Diablo 4 fans are counting down to the release of update 1.3.3, which brings a much-needed mid-season refresh to the dungeon-crawling role-playing game. Headlined by the launch of a new game mode called The Gauntlet, update 1.3.3 has a March 5 release date on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. The new update will arrive at around 6pm GMT UK time, which is when you’ll be able to jump in and experience the excitement of The Gauntlet, all the while benefiting from new balance changes, gameplay tweaks and bug fixes.
However, it’s The Gauntlet that will take centre stage, especially for fans looking for a more thrilling and fast-paced experience.
Indeed, The Gauntlet is a leaderboard-based challenge that takes place in a different fixed non-linear Dungeon each week.
Blizzard explains more: “The Trials call you forth, wanderer. Each week you can master a new Gauntlet: a fixed non-linear Dungeon that will have you fighting to earn the mightiest score.
“Who will fight to dominate the competition, earn coveted Seals, and carve their place on the Leaderboards. Do you have what it takes to become undeniable?”
Fans can gain access to the Gauntlet in the Seasonal Realm on World Tier IV. Just travel to the southwestern port in Gea Kul to engage in the latest Dungeon.
New Gauntlet Dungeons will launch at 6.15pm GMT UK time every Tuesday, and conclude the following week at 4pm GMT.
As part of the Gauntlet, players must obtain Proofs of Might by slaying demons, opening chests, and completing events. You’ll also need to discover new Pillars, which are scattered throughout the Gauntlet and can increase the number of Proofs you receive.
Players earn Seals based on the final score for the week. Seals are used for eligibility to place on the Leaderboards, and include Seal of the Blooded, Seal of the Steadfast, Seal of the Iron-Willed, Seal of the Worthy.
As part of the weekly reset, players will receive Caches of Trials which are said to guarantee one Ancestral Legendary based on the Seal. Obtaining the Seal of Worthy will grant the best treasures.
Leaderboards will also be separated by Class, Party size, Normal, and Hardcore, giving fans multiple opportunities to place in the top 10 and earn a place in the Hall of the Ancients.
In addition to The Gauntlet, the mid-season update makes “impactful class balance changes”, as well as Seneschal Companion tweaks.
