As Crockett walked down and spoke to her colleagues, chaotic footage appeared to show her grabbing Downs’ phone.
Laura Loomer quickly posted on X to accuse Crockett of assaulting Downs, who works as a DC correspondent for Loomer’s outlet.
“Charles told me Jasmine’s long finger nails scratched his hand, leaving a red mark and indentations from her nails on the top of his hand,” Loomer wrote, sharing a picture of Downs’ red hand.
Crockett hasn’t returned The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.

The video shows Crockett walking down a hallway and speaking to her colleagues as Downs asks her to condemn the recent violent attacks on Tesla.
On Monday, incendiary devices were found at a Tesla dealership in Austin, Texas. The devices were collected without incident, and no one was hurt.
The scare was the latest in a series of escalating violent attacks on Tesla as protestors retaliate against CEO Elon Musk for working in President Donald Trump’s administration.
Crockett recently spoke about the attacks, dubbed the Tesla takedowns, in a video where she appeared to suggest Musk should be “taken down.”
The remarks caught the eye of Attorney General Pam Bondi, who warned Crockett to watch how she speaks.
“She is an elected public official, so she needs to tread very carefully because nothing will happen to Elon Musk,” Bondi said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures.
“We are going to fight to protect all the Tesla owners throughout this country.”
In the video Bondi was referencing, Crockett was speaking on a call with the Tesla Takedown movement, which urges Tesla owners to sell their vehicles and get rid of their stock in the company as a form of peaceful protest.
The Tesla Takedown platform has a planned day of protest on March 29, which is Crockett’s birthday.
“All I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down,” Crockett said in the video.
Who is Jasmine Crockett?

Democratic Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett, 43, was born and raised in Missouri.
The lawmaker went to Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where she graduated with a degree in business administration in 2003.
She then went on to get her law degree at the University of Houston Law Center in 2006.
She practiced law in a private firm before going on to become a public defender in Bowie County, Texas.
Crockett took office in the Texas House of Representatives from the 100th district in January 2021.
The Democrat became a US representative from Texas’s 30th congressional district in January 2023.
“I have learned, as I serve on the DOGE Oversight committee, that there is only one language that the people that are in charge understand right now, and that language is money.”
She went on to clarify that her calls to action are “nonviolent.”
“We know that we are peaceful, loving people, and this is not about violence,” Crockett added.
However, Republicans have accused her of spreading violent rhetoric by engaging in the protests against Tesla.
This isn’t the first time Crockett has feuded with someone during her time in Congress.
Last year, she went toe to toe with Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Greene sparked outrage when she spoke about Crockett’s appearance at a tense House Oversight markup.
“I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading,” Greene said.
Crockett fired back a dig at Greene appearing to say she had a “bleach blonde bad built butch body.”
‘HOT WHEELS’ DIG
More recently, Crockett is also under fire for comments she made about Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a wheelchair user, over the weekend.
While speaking at the Human Rights Campaign’s 2025 dinner in Los Angeles on Saturday, Crockett referred to Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels.” Los Angeles dinner.
“The only thing hot about him is that he is a hot a** mess, honey,” she said.
Abbott has used a wheelchair for over 40 years after he was paralyzed from the waist down when a tree fell on him at age 26.
Crockett also recently encouraged Democrats to become more aggressive in their arguments with Republicans in an interview with NBC affiliate KXAS-TV.
When asked how Democrats can win elections in Texas, Crockett responded, “I think you punch.”
“I think you’re OK with punching.”
