Former Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley is facing new legal troubles after being arrested for a DUI following an alleged car accident.
The 60-year-old was apprehended on Monday in Rio, Va., after officers responded to a two-vehicle crash, TMZ reported. A video of the incident was also obtained by the outlet and shows what appears to be Tinsley in handcuffs at the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, his Escalade collided with a Corvette and the two drivers then pulled over to discuss. When the driver of the Corvette noticed something strange about Tinsley’s demeanor, they reportedly called the police.
The musician was booked around 9:30 p.m. and released just an hour later after he posted bond, according to records obtained by TMZ.
This incident adds to Tinsley’s ongoing legal issues. Four months ago, he was hit with a lawsuit stemming from allegations made by former Crystal Garden bandmate James Frost-Winn in 2018, who accused Tinsley of sexual harassment.
Following the allegations, Dave Matthews Band members distanced themselves from Tinsley, saying they were “shocked by these disturbing allegations and we were not previously aware of them.”
Tinsley denied the allegations and reached an out-of-court settlement with Frost-Winn in June 2019. The matter resurfaced in February, when Tinsley was sued again for allegedly breaching a non-disparagement clause.
