THE Dallas Mavericks could end up losing “nine figures over the next several years” after trading Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers.
Doncic was sent to the Lakers in February in a trade that shocked the entire sports world.

Even the 26-year-old Slovenian superstar was surprised and blindsided by the move – and Mavericks fans were left outraged.
Reports from ESPN now suggest the shock trade could come back to bite the Mavericks.
“It’s a decision that probably will cost the franchise nine figures over the next several years,” a report stated.
It comes after Doncic had an emotional return to Dallas – playing in Lakers yellow and purple.
Doncic clapped to his former supporters as he left the court and hugged Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
He also embraced with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes – who was sat court side.
The Slovenian broke down after seeing an emotional tribute on the big screen.
Doncic sat on the Los Angeles Lakers bench as a video clip played at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
He received a huge ovation from the Mavericks crowd on his return to the franchise.
Doncic scored 45 points in a 112-97 victory for Los Angeles.
“I don’t know how I did it,” he said on the ESPN broadcast.
“Because when I was watching that video, I was like, ‘There’s no way I’m playing this game.’
“I came as a young kid here, was 18, and not knowing what to expect from NBA.
“The Mavericks made me feel at home, and it’s just a lot of great, great memories.”
