Cristiano Ronaldo saw his hopes of winning the Champions League in his first season at Juventus ended on Tuesday night as the Old Lady were beaten 2-1 by Ajax in Turin.
The Portugal international had been aiming to lift the prize for a sixth time in his career but, ultimately, was unable to steer his side over the line.
Reports in Italy have suggested that Ronaldo could leave Juventus in 2020 if the club fail to invest shrewdly in the transfer market, with the star left devastated by the Ajax defeat.
The 34-year-old only moved to Serie A from Real Madrid back in the summer in a massive £105million transfer deal.
But, already, there are suggestions emerging that Ronaldo will leave Juventus ahead of schedule.
The forward supposedly feels that the Old Lady need more stardust if they are to fare better in the Champions League next season.
And La Gazetta dello Sport claim Juventus could sign Liverpool’s Salah to appease Ronaldo.
It is said that, over in Turin, they are willing to offer Paulo Dybala to Jurgen Klopp’s side as a sweetener in any transfer negotiations.
Dybala has endured a rough season so far, having struggled to shine in the wake of Ronaldo’s arrival.
But La Gazetta dello Sport say Juventus could end up missing out on Salah to Real Madrid.
Days ago, it was claimed by Spanish media that the Liverpool star had told Klopp he wanted to leave last summer.
And Real were reportedly his favoured destination.
If they are priced out of a move for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, then Los Blancos could rival Juventus for Salah.
But the Old Lady’s willingness to exchange Dybala for the Egypt international could swing the pendulum their way.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s mother has revealed how he was left devastated by the Ajax defeat.
“He was sad, he wanted to go to the final,” said Maria Dolores Aveiro.
“He will try for the next one.
“What did he say to me? ‘Mum, I don’t work miracles…’”
