Costco fan ‘so devastated’ after chain confirms it has discontinued ‘best’ kitchen essential for good

A COSTCO member has been left devastated after realizing a kitchen essential has been taken off the shelf.

The product had been missing from stores for a few weeks, according to fans who have been trying to hunt it down.

And now, a member has claimed to have found out the cause.

Taking to Reddit, the shopper revealed they were missing Costco’s own brand soy milk.

They wrote: “In previous posts this year about the missing soy milk, people commented that it was perhaps temporary due to a supplier issue.”

But instead of coming up with theories, they decided to reach out to Costco and ask where the dairy-free milk had gone.

“However, I just received this email back from my complaint:

“Thank you for your feedback regarding the KS Soy Milk.

“Unfortunately, the KS Soy Milk was discontinued due to slow sales.

“However, we plan on bringing in a branded Soy Milk as an item rotation throughout the year.

“The next rotation is due to arrive in August.”

They added: I know it’s silly but I am so devastated. The Kirkland brand soy milk was the best dairy free milk I have ever found. RIP.”

While she might have felt silly for being gutted about the discontinued drink, it turns out plenty of Costco members felt the same way.

One person wrote: “My husband LOVES this soy milk and we have been looking for it the last few trips! Very sad.”

Another commented: “This makes me so sad. I’ve been obsessively watching the warehouse stock in the app to see if it was back. I can’t drink dairy or oat milk and almond is too watery.”

“Ugh! I’m so sad about this. I’ve been looking for it,” penned a third.

Costco membership sharing guidelines

Costco has strict rules for membership use that shoppers must follow and they’ve been cracking down on offenders in recent years.

  • Primary Member Use: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. Sharing it for purchases is not allowed as the photo on the card must match the person using it.
  • Household Card: Each primary member can add one free household cardholder who lives at the same address. This person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
  • Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per visit to Costco. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by the member.
  • Authorized Cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who doesn’t reside at your address. They will receive their own card and can shop independently.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “That’s terrible, I am in shambles right now. The price cannot be beat and I mix it with my protein shake daily.”

“Ouch, they are getting rid of all my favorites,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Nooooooo.”
