COSTCO members have praised the deals offered in a brand new section at a popular location.
Not all of the warehouse retailer’s over 600 locations nationwide feature the area, making it a unique addition for local customers.

“Our Costco just got a garden center,” wrote an enthusiastic Costco member in a Reddit thread this month.
“It had a decent selection of fruit trees, foliage, and mystery peppers.”
“Strangely they didn’t put the seasonal garden supplies over by it, they added.
Included in the thread was a snapshot of a sign hanging from the rafters in-store that read “Garden Center NOW OPEN.”
While Costco has always sold lawn care and gardening supplies, not all stores have a garden center with the kind of plant offerings consumers might find at a Home Depot or Lowe’s gardening center.
It’s unclear if Costco intends to expand the inclusion of garden centers at all locations or if this decision is made on a store-by-store or seasonal basis.

Other comments from members in the Reddit thread revealed that the Costco in question with the garden center is based in Tallahassee, Florida.
Several local shoppers praised the deals offered in the garden center.
“It’s so dangerous,” a Tallahassee-based member wrote.
“My husband told me not to bring home anymore plants after this being my 3rd trip where I’ve brought 5 or more home.”
“Can’t resist a good deal on a plant and a flatbed cart, they added.
Someone else echoed a similar sentiment.
“If this happened at my Costco, I think I would lose my actual mind, and my partner would ban me from going to Costco unsupervised,” they commented.
Costco membership sharing guidelines
Costco has strict rules for membership use that shoppers must follow and they’ve been cracking down on offenders in recent years.
- Primary Member Use: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. Sharing it for purchases is not allowed as the photo on the card must match the person using it.
- Household Card: Each primary member can add one free household cardholder who lives at the same address. This person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per visit to Costco. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by the member.
- Authorized Cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who doesn’t reside at your address. They will receive their own card and can shop independently.

“Wow, I wish! It would make Costco even more dangerous for me though,” a third said.
A Costco member at a store in Tumwater, Washington, also claimed to have a garden center at their store.
Another shopper in Connecticut said the same.
PARENTAL PAINS
While the garden center is getting some positive feedback, some Costco customers were left unsatisfied recently with an update to a popular item.
Kimberly-Clark, which makes Huggies diapers and Kirkland Signature diapers for Costco, ended its relationship with the warehouse retailer at the start of the year to focus on its premium products.
Costco created a new partnership with personal care company First Quality to continue manufacturing Kirkland Signature diapers.
Mothers like TikToker Mel (@lifewithh_mel) criticized the new version of the Kirkland Signature diapers in a video, arguing that the quality had gone down significantly.
“Oh my god, it’s so cheap,” Mel exclaimed.
“This is really upsetting — right away I can tell the difference.”
Other moms threatened to cancel memberships and opt for Sam’s Club instead.
A recent food court price hike of 75% also caused controversy at Costco.
Drivers were also recently hit with $50 tickets due to a parking rule at the warehouse retailer.
