ABC sitcom “Fresh Off the Boat” has been canceled after six season, according to The Wrap.
The show — starring Randall Park and Constance Wu — centered on a culture-shocked family in the 1990s adjusting to life in Orlando after moving there from Chinatown.
Wu has previously been outspoken about her disdain for the comedy, even responding “Ugh. F–k.” in a Twitter post when the series was renewed for a sixth season earlier this year. “So upset right now that I’m literally crying,” she said.
ABC President Karey Burke said she “was happy” that Wu subsequently apologized. “We have ongoing conversations with the producers and it was made clear to us very early on that everyone took Constance at her word that she was apologetic,” she said.
In August, the “Hustlers” star admitted to being “dramatic” and “emotional” with the rant.
