Conor Kennedy, son of presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has apparently found lifelong love 12 years after his whirlwind summer romance with Taylor Swift.
Kennedy, 30, is engaged to 25-year-old Brazilian singer and actress Giulia Be.
“Easiest yes of all time,” Be wrote on Monday in a joint Instagram post that showed the couple hugging, kissing and slow-dancing amid candlelight.
Back in 2012, a 22-year-old Swift was smitten enough with then-18-year-old Kennedy to buy a home across the street from his family’s compound in Hyannis Port, Mass. She also appeared tight with his family, especially taking a shine to grandmother and matriarch Ethel Kennedy. Swift said penned the song “Starlight” after seeing a photo of Ethel and husband Robert F. Kennedy Sr. in their youth.
That feeling of admiration was mutual, as Ethel Kennedy called her grandson’s gal pal “sensational, inside and out” in a Vanity Fair interview later that year.
Swift sold the home in 2013 at a nearly $1 million profit, following her breakup with Kennedy at the end of the previous summer.
Conor Kennedy and his new fiancée have been an item for about two years, according to TMZ, which first reported their engagement. She has lived in Los Angeles since moving from Rio de Janeiro to be with him.
“I literally can’t believe this,” Be said in the video shared on Instagram as she and Kennedy swooned in each other’s arms. “I’m dreaming. This is a dream, this is a dream. I’m so happy.”
Congratulations poured in, including one from Kennedy’s stepmother, Cheryl Hines, who’s been married to RFK Jr. since 2014.
“Welcome to the family Giulia!!!!!” she gushed in a comment. “We love you so much!!”
