Clean your air fryer with simple ingredients – not vinegar or lemon

Do you have an air fryer? If you do, then you will probably know how much of a pain it is to clean, right?

Well, leading home appliance and electronics manufacturer, Hisense UK has come to the rescue with the correct cleaning technique.

Not only is keeping your home appliances clean essential for maintaining a hygienic living environment but also ensuring the longevity of the devices.

To help consumers avoid their appliances becoming unhygienic, experts at Hisense UK have detailed the dangers of neglecting appliance hygiene, in particular, air fryers.

Hisense UK said: “It’s vital to clean your air fryer after every use to prevent the buildup of food particles and grease.

“Although air fryers don’t require you to use any oil, cooking a multitude of different food types means bacteria can accumulate very quickly.

“Remove the basket and tray, wash them with warm soapy water, and wipe down the interior with a damp cloth.

“This prevents the appliance from becoming dangerously unhygienic, as most of the grime will remain unseen at a glance due to the navy/ black colour scheme in the vast majority of air fryers.

“Suppose you are cooking something particularly messy like sausages or burgers, it is recommended to leave the tray to soak in boiling water, with washing up liquid and half a cup of bicarbonate soda for a couple of hours.

“This should make cleaning the tough grease stains a lot easier.”
