CHRIS EUBANK SR says his son almost died after the Conor Benn battle.

The 58-year-old British ring legend rushed to the hospital with his 35-year-old heir after the brutal unanimous decision Tottenham win.

Junior was suffering with severe dehydration after boiling his 5ft 11in frame down to 11st 6lb and fighting his 28-year-old nemesis for 36 frantic and breathless minutes.

The Brighton bruiser spent two nights in the Royal London ward, getting released on Monday morning, after suffering swelling and bruising to his usually chiselled face.

And Senior – who stunned the world when he arrived at the Spurs stadium to flank alongside his boy against Conor and his father Nigel, who Senior boxed twice in the 1990s – revealed there were desperately worrying times when he didn’t know if his boy would survive.

Sr – whose 1991 win over Michael Watson left him with life-changing brain injuries – revealed on his Call Chris YouTube show: “It just brought me back all those years ago to think about what Michael went through, and I was feeling and seeing and hearing all of that.

“And I’m saying to myself, people don’t know, but my son is touch and go.

“And the only way we’re going to know whether he’s going to be okay is after the CT scans.

“He suffered mostly in the hospital because of dehydration, even though the beating was severe.”

Chris Jr lost his brother Sebastian in 2021, following a heart attack in Dubai, leaving their father utterly devastated.

Round by brutal round

CHRIS EUBANK JR secured the family bragging rights in his second generation grudge match against Conor Benn.

With three unanimous 116-112 verdicts, Eubank Jr prevailed in the family feud, with his dad making a return to his corner to watch it.

It lived up to the all hype – EVERY round was bloody, tasty and violent, before the more-experienced Eubank stood strong to come back into it and snatch victory.

Here, SunSport’s Jack Figg gives you the ultimate breakdown of a gripping clash between the sons of two British boxing legends.

Junior had his sibling’s name and photo etched onto his iconic shorts on Saturday night.

And there was an even more touching moment once they arrived at the hospital and Jr’s second fight of the night – to live – began.

Chris Eubank reveals he was smuggled into hotel in disguise hours before son Chris Jr’s fight with Conor Benn

Senior explained: “Junior was lying down on a stretcher and he was sensitive to light, so he always had a towel and something over his eyes.

“He had a shroud around him, around his eyes and head, and just his beard poking out.

“And in that moment he looked exactly like Sebastian, the spitting image.

“It’s real for us”

Junior is yet to be seen or speak in public but Team Benn and promoter Eddie Hearn are already trying to flog the rematch.

Matchroom promoter Hearn even claimed Eubank Jr could be made to boil down to an even lower weight, to give Benn more of a chance in the rerun.

But Senior would prefer his son to leave the dirty hurt business behind and enjoy the fruits of his life-threatening labour.

“My son was in a touch-and-go situation,” he said. “Life or death.

“He doesn’t respect that because he is a warrior and a warrior goes out on his shield, which he proved.

“He’s not going to listen to the rules. If he can evade and sidestep the rules, he will, because he is a warrior.

“It would be an extraordinary blessing for him, if he was wise enough to walk off into the sunset, there is nothing cooler than that, you cannot buy that.

“There are billionaires who would give everything they have, to have what he has.

“It cannot be bought, it has to be earned.”
