The Gold Cup is the main race of the day at 3.30pm with Native River looking to win the race for the second year in a row.

Native River rode to glory with Richard Johnson on his back and is looking to be the first back-to-back winner since Best Mate.

It faces some tough competition from the likes of Presenting Percy, Kemboy, Bellshill and Thistlecrack, but Native River is highly fancied among tipsters.

The action gets under way at 1.30 again with the Triumph Hurdle and the seven races will bring an end to another exciting festival.

Cheltenham tips

1.30 JCB Triumph Hurdle

Sir Erec is unbeatable if you believe the preview night narrative. But he is a ridiculously short price for such a hard race to win. So preference is for QUEL DESTIN who has been on the go since October but has improved from race to race. Stablemate Pic D’Orhy is a fascinating runner on his British debut and will relish the trip and ground.

WIN: QUEL DESTIN

EACH-WAY: Pic D’Orhy

2.10 Randox Health County Hurdle

MONSIEUR LECOQ was an excellent second in the Imperial Cup and is well in on ratings here as he is due to race off a higher margin future. He gets the vote. Many of these would prefer better ground but Whiskey Sour, third in the race last year, should run well. The each-way is We Have A Dream, one of the few class horses in the contest.

WIN: MONSIEUR LECOQ

EACH-WAY: We Have A Dream

2.50 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

LISNAGAR OSCAR has done nothing but improve and heads into the race in great form. Dickie Diver is a lovely big individual and if he is mentally mature enough then he will play a hand in the finish.

WIN: LISNAGAR OSCAR

EACH-WAY: Dickie Diver

3.30 Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup

He stays. He jumps. He loves the ground. He has the best jump jockey on the planet on board. Not many horses win back-to-back Gold Cups but NATIVE RIVER has it within his grasp. Presenting Percy is fascinating while it might be a year early for Clan Des Obeaux. With the emphasis on stamina, Elegant Escape is great each-way value.

WIN: NATIVE RIVER

EACH-WAY: Elegant Escape
