Charlie Fairhead (played by Derek Thompson) has been having a tough time recently coping with work and Lisa “Duffy” Duffin’s (Cathy Shipton) dementia diagnosis but in tonight’s instalment of the BBC medical drama he may be forced to make a shocking decision.
When Casualty returns this evening viewers we witness Charlie struggling to balance his work life and personal life as he worries about Duffy while he’s at the Emergency Department.
The stalwart’s bad mood begins to affect the stage around him causing David (Jason Durr) to try his best to reach out to Charlie to try and help.

David traps Charlie in his office and tells him he won’t let him out until he’s opened up about how he feels and finally Charlie breaks down.
Reaching out, Charlie confesses he’s worried he can’t look after Duffy on his own and is scared what the future holds for the pair.
Despite David offering his support, could this intervention lead to Charlie making a heartbreaking realisation about his time on the ED?
As he struggles to balance his job and caring for Duffy, he may decide the best thing to do is to quit the ED to be there for Duffy full time.
Will David be able to convince him to stay or could fans be saying goodbye to Charlie for good?
