The wreckage of Cara Delevingne’s home which was destroyed in a fire has now been revealed as aerial images have shown the true extent of the damage.

Cara’s £5.5 million ($7 million) Californian mansion located in the hills of Studio City, Los Angeles burned to the ground earlier this month in what is believed to have been caused by an electrical issue.

The actress was not at home at the time, as she is in the UK currently starring as Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret in London’s West End.

She initially posted on Instagram fearing that her cats had perished in the fire but hours later posted to social media that they had been rescued. Cara wrote: “They are alive!! Thank you to the firefighters.”

The Los Angeles Fire Department has said one firefighter was taken to hospital but was in stable condition and that one person inside the home at the time of the was treated for minor smoke inhalation.

In a statement, Captain Adam VanGerpen said: “There was a very long driveway, where they found a large two-story, single-family home that had fire and smoke showing from the rear,

“This got up into the attic and spread throughout the majority of the home. So the home has a lot of excessive damage.”

Cara later took to Instagram to share her gratitude to the firefighters. She wrote: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the firefighters and people that showed up to help…..”

Pictures have shown that the roof has curved in and most of the property is a blacked ruin and has been destroyed in the fire, with the kitchen and bedrooms visible from the aerial pictures.

It is believed that the fire first started in the backroom of the mansion and may have been caused by an electrical issue.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Cara bought the 8,000-square-foot mansion in 2019 for for $7 million.

Her home was featured on Architectural Digest’s YouTube channel in 2021 and Cara gave a home tour of the property were she explained that she has given every room in the house a different theme.

She said: “The theme of this house, it’s not Alice in Wonderland. Every room has a different theme. But I feel like the theme of this is definitely Mad Hatter’s tea party.

“But there’s jungle theme, there’s Beverly Hills hotel, there’s an old English style in here, but also, obviously, very typically LA.”
