Sky clearly wants UK homes to consider making the switch and jump over to its broadband service. The telecoms and TV firm has not only just slashed the cost of its speedy internet to the ‘lowest ever’ price but is now offering a much easier way to move suppliers. Sky has confirmed that it has now implemented the so-called “One Touch Switch” process which means new customers simply tell Sky they’d like to join with the Internet Service Provider (ISP) then doing the rest.
There’s not even any need to ring the current ISP the user is signed up to with everything being moved seamlessly with one call.
One Touch Switch is a new industry-wide initiative from Ofcom which is aimed at making the process of transferring suppliers a lot easier for consumers. It was meant to come into force last month but due to technical difficulties, a lot of ISPs have had to push back the launch.
Sky says it is now fully committed to the update and has even launched a dedicated 24/7 switching support service to help answer queries and sory issues.
Customers switching can speak to an agent via phone between 8am and 8pm, or use the online chat function from 8pm to 8am for “round-the-clock” support.
If making the move sounds enticing there’s that new deal which is offering Full Fibre 500 package at Sky’s lowest ever price. Those signing up before October 23 will pay just £29 per month. It’s a decent deal with BT currently charging £34.99 for slower 300Mbps speeds.
