A pedestrian crossing a Brooklyn street was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver early Thursday, cops said.
The victim was crossing Lafayette Ave. at Bedford Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 3 a.m. when he was mowed down by a passing driver, police said.
Medics rushed the man, believed to be in his 50s, to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital but he couldn’t be saved. He wasn’t carrying ID and cops were working to determine his identity.
The driver sped away from the scene and has not been caught, cops said. Cops on Thursday were scouring the area for surveillance footage that could help them identify the driver or their vehicle.
