Bronx teen, 16, fights for life after being shot in neck

A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot in the neck on a Bronx street early Friday, police said.

The victim was outside a closed daycare on Bryant Ave. near Jennings St. in Crotona Park East just before 1 a.m. when he was shot.

Witnesses told police that the victim was riding on the back of a moped when he was shot. The driver of the moped was a man wearing all black, WPIX reported.

The teen was uncooperative when questioned by detectives. Investigators suspect the shooting is linked to ongoing gang activity in the area.

Cops on Friday were scouring the area looking for surveillance images that would help them identify the shooter.
