Bronx man fatally stabbed in lovers quarrel, woman arrested

A Bronx woman was arrested on a charge of murder Sunday for fatally stabbing the man she was living with, slashing him in the leg, police said.

Shortly after 4 a.m., officers responding to a 911 call found Joshua Johnson, 36, bleeding out from a stab wound to his leg in the apartment he shared with Karlene Payne, 31, near Lincoln Ave. and East 132nd St., cops said.

Medics transported Johnson to Lincoln hospital but he could not be saved.

Payne and Johnson had been arguing before she stabbed him with an unknown implement, according to police.

Payne was arrested around 12:40 p.m. Charges against her were pending and the investigation is ongoing.
