British Airways suspended flights from Heathrow to the Malaysian capital during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The airline initially planned to relaunch flights between the two destinations at the end of last year.
However, its launch was reportedly pushed back because of aircraft issues.
Senior General Manager of Strategy, Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin at Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, made the following announcement: “We had a good discussion with the British Airways team. They are also very excited about this relaunch”.
Even though British Airways has not officially confirmed a launch date for its new route, the airline previously said: “Kuala Lumpur’s head-turning skyline offers the best of both old and new, with skyscrapers, minarets and Mughal-style domes making up the architecture of the city.”
“Begin your journey at the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. Then take a tour of Little India and Chinatown, neighbourhoods filled with busy markets and delicious street food.”
Other details, such as flight frequency and ticket prices, have yet to be revealed.
Sun Online Travel have contacted British Airways for comment.
British Airways first discontinued its route from the UK to Kuala Lumpur back in 2001 before reinstating flights in 2015.
The route was scrapped again in 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
