Three nights in and The Rhapsody Tour is well underway for Queen and Adam Lambert. Now guitarist Brian May has heaped praise on the singer, calling him the reason that the iconic rock back is still alive today. Writing on his Instagram before performing in San Jose, the 71-year-old wrote: “And here is the Modern Marvel without whom, for sure, Queen would not be out here delivering at the top level.”
May continued: “ADAM LAMBERT is only now beginning to be recognised by the greater public as the true phenomenon that he is.
“Gifted with a voice in a billion, for himself he is a passionate and unyielding perfectionist.
“Gifted to us, he is the reason that we are still alive as a functioning rock band.
“And still able to take on new challenges. Plus … he’s nice. That’s a big deal when you’re a touring family.”

May added: “I thought we might not get him back.”
“(It was) not just Freddie. We had to consider whether we were in good enough shape to do it.
“It would have been easier not to do it, as the chances of making fools of ourselves were so big.”
Queen and Adam Lambert’s The Rhapsody Tour continues in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday.
