Businessman and Brexit Party MEP Ben Habib attacked Boris Johnson’s Brexit tactics and warned of the potential dangers of his plan that could result in a BINO (Brexit In Name Only). In an interview with Express.co.uk, Mr Habib argued that Mr Johnson was hoping to agree a deal with the European Union that was essentially Theresa May’s deal without the Irish backstop. He noted that this would spell a long list of issues for Britons around the country who wanted Brexit out of hopes of a better future for Britain.
Mr Habib said: “Brexit in name only, this signing up to that withdrawal agreement.
“That would create quite a challenge for the Brexit Party because we would lose our platform, we would be fighting a rear-guard action.
“And potentially a rear-guard action we couldn’t win.
“There are very limited mechanisms by which you can exit a treaty.

“The withdrawal agreement has no exit mechanism built into it.
“We would have to rely on the convention of 1969 and that convention provides virtually no get out of jail cards.
“If Boris signs us up to that withdrawal agreement he will have done the United Kingdom the greatest disservice possible.
“If he takes us into the withdrawal agreement there is no mechanism by which we can exit built into it.
“He would prevent our Government from being able to provide state aid.
“He would be making our armed forces available to the European Union defence force at their discretion.
“Opening up British territorial waters to French fishing in perpetuity.
“He would be doing so many things to the detriment of the United Kingdom and he must not sign that withdrawal agreement.”
