Boy, 12, missing after he 'did not go home after school today'


A teenager has been reported missing after failing to come home from school.

The search for Liam Goodwin started when he did not return from Holy Family Community School in Rathcoole, south west of Dublin.

The 12-year-old was in his school uniform but had no jacket, mobile phone or money with him, Dublin Live reported.

Parents at the school have been asked to check with their children to see if they know Liam’s whereabouts.

Jamie Goodwin, his dad, posted on Twitter : “Please help my son Liam. He is missing from Rathcoole in Dublin since 4pm. He has no phone or money. He is 12 years old.

“Please retweet as many times as possible. Thank you.”

Local football club Shamrock Rovers reiterated his plea.

Shamrock Rovers also issued an appeal for the boy on their Twitter page.

They wrote: “Shamrock Rovers would like to share the appeal for a local boy Liam Goodwin from Rathcoole who is missing.

“Liam did not go home after school today. He is in school uniform without a jacket, money or phone. If you have seen a boy fitting this description please alert Gardai.”
