PAUL PIERCE has been left completely embarrassed by his prediction on the New York Knicks.

The Boston Celtics legend was overly confident that his former side would beat the Knicks in Game 2 of the Conference semi-finals.

The two teams faced off at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Pierce, 47, was insistent during an appearance on Fox Sports 1 that his former side would win.

The member of the 2008 Celtics title-winning team even promised that he would walk to the studio if he was wrong.

He said: “If the Celtics lose [Game 2], I promise you, I’m walking here tomorrow.

“In my robe, no shoes on, bare feet.

“Put the house on this game.

“You got a better chance at walking out of this studio and seeing a dinosaur [than a Celtics loss].”

The match was a thriller with only one point deciding the winner.

But unfortunately for Pierce, that point was for the Knicks as they won 91-90.

Josh Hart impressed in the match as he racked up 23 points during his 43 minutes of action.

Pierce has reacted to the defeat on social media as he shared an image of the daunting walk to work.

The pictures showed his walking route to the FS1 studio and that it would take him over 8 HOURS to make the 20.2-mile commute.

He captioned the picture with a vomiting emoji.

Fans saw the funny side as they reacted on social media.

One posted: “This is amazing.”

A second wrote: “The long walk haha.”

A third commented: “Better pack some snacks and make sure ya phone charged.”

A fourth said: “The Truth hurts.”

Another added: “You gonna turn into Forrest Gump by the end of that walk.”

Pierce has been a man of his word and shared his progress on the walk on his Instagram story.

The clips show him walking the walk to work while wearing his grey robe, having left his home at roughly 6am.
