Ben Affleck is not on the rebound with Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy (nor anybody else) amid his split from Jennifer Lopez, despite what’s made its way through the grapevine.
A rep for the 52-year-old winner said in a statement obtained by People Tuesday “there’s no truth to any of” the speculation surrounding a blooming romance between the Oscar winner, 52, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s eldest daughter, 36, a philanthropist who’s dabbled in acting.
“I don’t even know if they know each other,” Jen Allen told the outlet in a statement.
Allen’s remarks came a day after an insider told Us Weekly the “Argo” filmmaker “might know her in passing,” but “is not dating Kick” and is “not dating anyone.”
Other insiders recently told People the pair had been “spending time together,” with at least one source tracing the connection to late spring.
The denials come a week after 55-year-old Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Aug. 20 — exactly two years after their lavish Georgia ceremony. (The pair eloped in Las Vegas the month prior.)
“The timing of the divorce was a big f–k you to Ben,” a Hollywood source previously told Us Weekly. Another insider claimed the pair “had gone through all the details” of the separation prior to the filing, though it’s unclear whether timing was also discussed.
Lopez and Affleck were engaged in the early 2000s and, after a highly publicized breakup, wed and had families with Marc Anthony and Jennifer Garner, respectively. They reconciled in 2021.
The Lopez-Affleck romance served as the centerpiece of Lopez’s new “This Is Me… Now” album — and canceled tour — as well as the companion film, “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” and documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”
Despite her reputation as a fan of the limelight and Affleck’s as an infinitely more private celebrity, sources told People that the documentary “was his idea” and largely in Affleck’s “control.”
