However, they can be extremely costly, with some models selling for over a hundred pounds.
Posting in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, one shopper recently revealed that she had found a Russell Hobbs air fryer for £90 cheaper that it’s original price.
“Bargain for the day”, she said, attaching pictures of the product to the post.
The image showed the Russell Hobbs Satisfry 5.5 litre Air and Grill which has seven cooking modes, including slow-cook, roasting and baking.
Sharing an image of the self-checkout screen, the shopper showed that the product had originally been on sale for £129, and was now scanning for £38.
Tesco fans flooded the comments section of the post, to share their excitement over the bargain.
One person said: “Wow what a bargain. I love mine, use it all the time.”
Another person said: “Amazing.”
A product description reads: “With its spacious 5.5 litre air fryer cooking pot, the Russell Hobbs Satisfry Air & Grill Multi Cooker is a fast, easy way to cook the delicious meals you love.
“It has seven cooking options so you can cook with confidence, whether you’re air frying, roasting, baking, slow-cooking, searing, grilling or simply keeping meals warm.
“With little or no oil required, you can reduce the amount of fat you use without compromising on taste.”
And the air fryer isn’t the only Tesco bargain that shoppers are going mad about.
Also posting to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group, another shopper revealed that she managed to pick up a Silent Night duvet cover which had been reduced from £46 to £14.
The shoppers said: “Silent Night Hotel Collection, King Duvet 10.5 Tog reduced from £46 to £14
“I had a 2.50 voucher so I paid £11.50.”
Rise of the air fryer
Air fryers have maintained their spot as the most popular kitchen gadget in the UK last year.
Annual sales figures from Lakeland show sales of air fryers were up 1,175% on last year – when they were already soaring in popularity – as households continue their efforts to save energy on standard ovens.
The retailer said: “In previous years, their popularity could be attributed to consumers seeking healthier cooking options and fast cooking times.
“However, with the cost-of-living crisis continuing, air fryers have a renewed appeal as an efficient alternative to oven cooking.”
The only other products that “shaped the year” were heated airers – with sales up 51% – and heated textiles, such as heated throws and ponchos, Lakeland said, as households bought gadgets as an alternative to expensive dryers and central and electric heaters.
