A MAJOR supermarket has sent shoppers into a frenzy after slashing the price of Ben & Jerry’s by almost 50%.
The epic deal comes just as temperatures are set to climb to a gorgeous 29C this week in a UK-wide sunny spell.

The mercury is expected to rise throughout the week, reaching highs of up to 29C by Wednesday and Thursday.
And what better way to enjoy the glorious sunshine than in the garden or on the beach with a tub of ice cream?
Luckily, one supermarket has come to rescue with a bargain deal, now offering cult favourite Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for under £3 – and there are plenty of flavours to choose from.
ASDA has sent shoppers wild with their fantastic Ben & Jerry’s deal, selling the creamy treat for just £2.98.
Customers can indeed make huge savings if they head to the local branch this week, as usually the ice cream will set you back a whopping £5.34 – or an eye-watering £5.55 at rival Sainsbury’s.
Bargain hunters can find a huge variety of cult favourite flavours in the freezer aisle, from Caramel Chew-Chew to Netflix & Chill’d.
Other flavours to stock up before the arrival of summer are Spectacu-love, the classic Cookie Dough, as well as Caramel Brownie Party.
ASDA has slashed prices across almost one third of its entire range since renewing its Rollback price commitment at the end of January, The Sun reported in March 2025.
Many shoppers will have seen prices cut across ASDA’s more than 1,200 stores, with the supermarket looking to restore its reputation for good value.
The latest price cuts include a 44% cut in the price of 165g tub of Philadelphia soft cheese, from £2.08 to £1.16.
The price of Munch Bunch kids yoghurts has also been cut by 34%, from £1.78 to £1.18, and a 500g tub of Clover spread by 33% from £2.27 to £1.52.
In January Asda said prices would be cut by an average of 25%, with some reductions reaching 50%.
Thanks to the epic price reductions customers can now also get their hands on Haribo Push-up ice lollies for just £1.98, down from £3.
With Brits basking in glorious sunshine, the offers have already taken the storm, with one shopper, Red Sardonyx, sharing a snap of the goodies on Facebook.
How to save at Asda
Shop the budget range
Savvy shopper Eilish Stout-Cairns recommends that shoppers grab items from Asda’s Just Essentials range.
She said: “Asda’s budget range is easy to spot as it’s bright yellow! Keep your eyes peeled for yellow and you’ll find their Just Essentials range.
“It’s great value and I’ve found it has a much wider selection of budget items compared to other supermarkets.
Sign up to Asda Rewards
The savvy-saver also presses on the importance of signing up to Asda’s reward scheme.
She said: “Asda Rewards is free to join and if you shop at Asda you should absolutely sign up.
“As an Asda Rewards member, you’ll get exclusive discounts and offers, and you’ll also be able to earn 10% cashback on Star Products.
“This will go straight into your cashpot, and once you’ve earned at least £1, you can transfer the money in your cashpot into ASDA vouchers.
We’ve previously rounded up the best supermarket loyalty schemes – including the ones that will save you the most money.
Look out for booze deals
Eilish always suggests that shoppers looking to buy booze look out for bargain deals.
She said: “Asda often has an alcohol offer on: buy six bottles and save 25%.
“The offer includes selected bottles with red, white and rose options, as well as prosecco. There are usually lots of popular bottles included, for example, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot and Freixenet Prosecco D.O.C.
“Obviously, the more expensive the bottles you choose, the more you save.”
Join Facebook groups
The savvy saver also recommends that fans of Asda join Facebook groups to keep in the know about the latest bargains in-store.
Eilish said: “I recommend joining the Latest Deals Facebook Group to find out about the latest deals and new launches in store.
“Every day, more than 250,000 deal hunters share their latest bargain finds and new releases.
“For example, recently a member shared a picture of Asda’s new Barbie range spotted in store.
“Another member shared the bargain outdoor plants she picked up, including roses for 47p, blackcurrant bushes for 14p and topiary trees for 14p.”
The post, uploaded on the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, has left fellow cash-savvy shoppers gleaming, racking up close to 100 likes in less than 24 hours.
Over 60 people flooded to comments to tag their friends and family, with one in total disbelief over ”the Ben n Jerry prices”.
Someone else chimed in: ”Ben & Jerrys on rollback!”
The mega supermarket has claimed that many of its “family favourite” products are now 5% cheaper than promotional prices at competitors, including Tesco’s Clubcard prices or Sainsbury’s Nectar prices.
The price cuts come as the supermarket moves to a new so-called “Asda Price” that aims to beat rivals.
Asda previously had an Aldi and Lidl price match scheme where it matched the cheapest price of the two discount supermarkets.
