Sergio Ramos has suspiciously praised Neymar after his side drew 1-1 with Real Valladolid.
“Neymar is a top player, for me, one of the top three players in the world,” said Ramos.
Real Madrid continue to chase Neymar, who is more likely to join Barcelona.
Ramos also made it clear that he wants goalkeeper Keylor Navas to stay, amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
He added: “Keylor is a great friend, one of the top three keepers in the world. I think the competition [between him and Courtois] is good.”
Messi and Suarez want Neymar
Spanish based journalist Sid Lowe claims that a number of key players at Barcelona including Messi and Suarez want to bring Neymar back to the club and are pressing to make it happen.
“I listened to Julien yesterday and everything he said was correct [about PSG not wanting to allow a loan deal],” Lowe explained on ESPN FC.
“The problem is that anything can shift.
“Right now, Barcelona are in a very strange position.
“They would very much like to sign Neymar, they have a number of the dressing room, in particular Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, saying they would like to sign Neymar.
“And, I suspect the most important thing for them is that they don’t want Real Madrid having Neymar.
“The problem is that they don’t really have the means to do this.”
Barca keen on Bentancur
Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Rodrigo Bentancur is on Barcelona’s radar and they could move for the midfielder before September 2.
He would cost Barca around £55m but the report adds Barca are in advanced discussions over a deal for the Uruguayan international.
The 22-year-old joined the club in 2017 but established himself in the first team under Massimiliano Allegri last term.
Competition for places in Maurizio Sarri’s new look squad is incredibly high though and Bentancur was an unused sub in the Serie A opener at Parma.
