Banish fingerprints on kitchen surfaces using simple three-ingredient spray

Out of all the rooms in your house, you’ll probably find that the kitchen is the one most often in need of a clean.

It’s the place where food is prepared, so spillages are all too common, but another annoying issue is the dirty fingerprints that can plague your surfaces too – especially glass ones and appliances like your oven and fridge.

It can feel as though you’re constantly wiping these down in order to remove these fingerprints, which can be a really time-consuming task.

But fear not, as one cleaning expert on TikTok says you can make your own fingerprint repellent spray at home that prevents your surfaces from becoming marked.

And even better, it only requires three ingredients to make.

Social media cleanign aficionado Beatriz, also known as Make Life Simpler on TikTok, helps people to do just that – by sharing easy cleaning and organisational hacks that keep your home looking pristine.

In a recent video, which has racked up more than 17.1k views, she says you can help to prevent dusty and dirty finger marks on your surfaces by whipping up a homemade cleaning spray using just three ingredients you probably already have at home.

You can use it on your oven door, glass hob, mirrors or anywhere else you’re sick of wiping, as the simple mixture helps to stop fingerprints from even forming in the first place.

And it couldn’t be easier to make either. All you need is 2 tsp of dishwasher rinse aid, 2 tsp of dish soap and 2tsp of white vinegar – staple ingredients that many of us will already have in the cupboards.

Add these to a spray bottle and top up with a quarter of a cup of water, before giving it a good shake to ensure that all of the ingredients are combined.

Then, just spray it anywhere that you often see dirty fingerprint marks – such as your microwave, fridge, worktop or hob, and buff it in with a cloth.

To prove that it did in fact do the trick, Beatriz then pressed her hand up against the areas she’d applied the concoction to.

When she lifted it off, no fingerprints remained, and the surfaced stayed gleaming.

If you don’t have the ingredients at home, you can buy white vinegar from all hig street supermarkets, including Morrisons, Asda and Tesco, where it is currently on sale for 35p.

Dish soap costs 69p and rinse aid is priced at £2.15 – making it the perfect budget-friendly hack.
