Greggs in Great Yarmouth closed down temporarily for unknown reasons yesterday.
Signs were put up on the store’s shutters saying customers could go to their other branch on the edge of town.
The message read: “We’ve had to temporarily close this shop, we’ll be back soon.
“Don’t worry, our ovens are still baking at Gapton Hall.”
Locals reacted to the news of its closure on social media.
One Facebook user wrote: “It closed yesterday morning while I was in there and was closed all last week,” adding that even staff members were unsure of the reason.
Another commented: “Very confusing if you ask me.”
The Sun has approached Greggs for comment.
The closure comes after Pappa Johns, temporarily closed 13 of its restaurants around the UK.
The decision for their closures came from a performance review of the franchised outlets.
Papa Johns is said to be working on securing new ownership before reopening their stores.
Greggs was also required to temporarily close a number of its stores last year due to a IT glitch.
This included branches across the country, from Newcastle, Cardiff and Westminster.
Customers took to social media saying: “All my local Greggs stores are closed because of technical issues, missing my morning coffee.”
Greggs currently has over 2,600 stores across the UK.
