‘Baby Driver’ actor Hudson Meek dead at 16

Teenage actor Hudson Meek, known for his role in the Oscar-nominated heist film “Baby Driver,” has died after falling from a moving vehicle in Alabama.

The 16-year-old fell at around 10:45 p.m. local time on Dec. 19 in Vestavia Hills, about 7 miles south of Birmingham, local NBC affiliate WVTM reports.

Hudson sustained blunt force trauma and was hospitalized at UAB Hospital, where he died “peacefully” Saturday night, according to an obituary.

It’s unclear how Hudson fell or whether he was alone at the time of the accident.

Though he was so young, Hudson, an organ donor, “accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met,” his mother Lani Wells Meek wrote on Facebook. “Please pray for our family and friends as we all process this sudden and tragic loss.”

On Monday, “devastated” local performing arts school, Acting Out! Academy, shared a tribute to “one of AOA’s first and brightest stars.

“May you shine forever Hud. You will be deeply missed. Please join us in praying for his amazing family during this difficult time,” read the statement, adding AOA would open that afternoon “for those who knew and loved him to come pray, share memories and be together.”

A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. local time and can be livestreamed.

The family requested people consider donations to the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship at Vestavia Hills High School in lieu of sending flowers.

In Edgar Wright’s “Baby Driver,” nominated for three Academy Awards, Hudson played the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s titular character. He also appeared in “MacGyver,” “Legacies,” “Found” and “Genius,” and did voiceover work, including in Toys-R-Us and McDonald’s commercials.

The circumstances surrounding Hudson’s death are under investigation by Vestavia Hills Police. The Daily News has reached out for additional information.
