This weekend the Marvel epic will storm cinemas and no doubt be one of the biggest movies of all time. In fact, Avengers Endgame is looking at the world record for opening weekend in North America. The current record holder is its predecessor Avengers Infinity War from last year, which took $258 million. Now Variety, are reporting that Endgame is expected to earn between $250 million and $268 million in its first three days.
However, Avengers Endgame decimated this record in just six hours.
Now considering The Force Awakens made $2.068 billion worldwide and is the third highest-grossing film of all time, it would not be surprising at all for Endgame to top this on overall worldwide gross.
In fact, Titanic is only a little ahead of Star Wars, so Endgame could very well become the second biggest film ever behind the top dog Avatar.
James Cameron’s sci-fi epic took $2.7 billion 10 years ago, but perhaps it’s too soon to say whether Endgame could beat that.
