The Villans have splashed the cash since getting promoted to the Premier League.
Aston Villa have completed seven signings, with Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Wesley Moraes, Matt Targett, Kortney Hause, Anwar El Ghazi and Jota all heading to the Midlands.
And according to the Daily Mirror, Dean Smith is closing in on another two signings.
After Konsa’s arrival, Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton and Egypt winger Mahmoud Hassan could also join.
Villa met Konsa’s £12million release clause and the deal was announced on Thursday morning.
The 21-year-old underwent his medical on Wednesday evening and contract talks were quick.
Villa have also tabled an offer for England goalkeeper Heaton after ending their interest in Stoke’s Jack Butland.
The Midlands club have also upped their interest in Trezeguet, 24.
Villa scouted the winger three times at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Villa have also been linked with Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips, with former striker Darren Bent claiming he’d be a perfect signing.
“I’d love to see him at Villa,” Bent told Football Insider.
“The perfect, ideal replacement for Glenn Whelan. He gets around the pitch, good on the ball, takes free kicks and honestly I couldn’t speak highly enough of him.
“I watched him a lot last season and done quite a lot of games and every game he impressed me.
“I thought in the playoffs, second leg against Derby, he was probably the best player on the pitch.
“He set up the first goal, put tackles in, and I saw at times even when he played centre-half he didn’t look out of place as well.
“He was brilliant so, for me, perfect signing. He’s going to cost them a fair bit though.
“Are Leeds going to go and sell Jack Clarke and Kalvin Phillips, their two best youngsters?
“I’m not quite sure, but if I was Aston Villa I’d be doing everything I could to try and get him.”
