Asda issued a customer notice for those who may have bought Asda Extra Special Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps.
“Please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund,” Asda said. “You do not need your receipt.”
The only packets of crisps affected by the food recall are those with a best-before date of September 21, 2024.
Asda explained: “Asda is recalling the above best-before date code of Asda Extra Special Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps (150g) because packs contain mil, which is not mentioned on the label.
“This means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.”
Asda certified: “No other date codes are affected.” The supermarket apologised for “any inconvenience caused”.
Further details about the issue can be discussed on the Asda Customer Relations helpline on 0800 952 0101.
Elsewhere, Waitrose recalled Waitrose Chocolate Mini Cupcakes as people could experience an allergic reaction.
Waitrose Chocolate Mini Cupcakes contain walnuts, but this potential allergen wasn’t mentioned on the label.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) explained: “As a result of a packaging error, some packs contain Coffee and Walnut Cupcakes.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to walnuts.”
