“Saturday Night Live” has unveiled its initial lineup of hosts and guests for Season 50, including Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish.
Recent Emmy winner Jean Smart will host for the first time in the Sept. 28 season premiere. Grammy-nominated country crooner Jelly Roll will serve as musical guest. His new album, “Beautifully Broken,” is scheduled for release on Oct. 11.
The following week,stand-up comic Nate Bargatze will make his second appearance as host of the long-running sketch comedy series, with music from Coldplay. The chart-topping band’s eighth appearance as musical guest is timed with the release of its tenth album, “Moon Music,” on Oct. 4.
Ahead of her big screen turn in Jon M. Chu’s big screen adaptation of “Wicked,” Grande will take on the “SNL” hosting duties for the second time on Oct. 12 with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks as musical guest. The guest spot will mark the Fleetwood Mac diva’s first “SNL” performance since 1983.
Keaton and Billie Eilish are booked for the Oct. 19 show, while “Five Timers Club” member John Mulaney will host for a sixth time on Nov. 2 with pop music sensation Chappell Roan.
This season of “Saturday Night Live” will welcome Groundlings alum Ashley Padilla, stand-up alum Emil Wakim, and TikToker Jane Wickline.The new casting announcements follow the departures of Molly Kearney and Punkie Johnson and featured player Chloe Troast.
A live primetime special celebrating the 50th anniversary of “SNL” is set for Feb. 16.
