Anthony Joshua declared that he was “p***ed” and “ready to kick off” after losing his blockbuster fight with Daniel Dubois, after getting knocked out in the fifth round.
Dubois could have won their clash several times over and Joshua struggled to get to the fifth round after hitting the deck on three occasions before failing to beat the count on the fourth time he hit the mat.
But the Watford man could not hide his disappointment in the immediate aftermath. When asked what went wrong, he replied: “The opponent. Credit to him and his team, we rolled the dice at success and we come up short. But I want to say everyone at Wembley, I appreciate you coming out this evening.
“You know I’m p***ed, you know I’m ready to kick off in the ring but I’m going to keep my cool and keep very professional and give the respect to my opponent.
“You know what it is, before I came here I’m always saying to myself ‘I’m a fighter for life’. We rolled the dice at success and we came up short, and we roll it again. We keep rolling the dice.”
After the one-sided affair, Dubois grabbed the microphone and shouted to the Wembley crowd: “Are you entertained?” Before declaring himself a gladiator.
