ANNA Wintour has finally set the record straight about a Met Gala outfit rule rumor after years of speculation.
For many years, it has been a widespread rumor that Vogue editor Anna, 75, must approve every outfit worn at The Met Gala.

The Met Gala 2025, which is said to have a rather stringent security plan that includes a ‘mile-wide frozen zone’ with snipers and hostage negotiators, will take place today (Monday, May 5).
This year, the theme, and the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.
And now Anna has defiantly squashed the years-long rumors that she has to screen every outfit.
She even ended the speculation in one fell swoop.

Sitting down with Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan, Anna has revealed that no, despite the rumors, she does not approve A-listers’ outfits ahead of the event.
“Is it true that you know in advance what all the guests will be wearing?” Michael asked.
Replying with a chuckle, Anna said: “No.”
She then added: “Many call and ask for our advice, so we try and help some of them as best we can.
“Some, [I have] no idea.”
STYLE ADVICE FOR ATTENDEES
The iconic event, which takes place annually on the first Monday of May, is hosted by Anna, who has now confirmed that she enjoys offering style advice to attendees.
Michael then said to Anna: “Colman Domingo said he’d text you a photo of what he was wearing.”
Anna then confirmed that there had been “a discussion” about his look for the event.
“He said he quote ‘died’ with the response when you told him it was a ‘work of art’.”
Anna replied: “It was his idea. It was a clever idea.”
Michael asked Anna if she had seen looks from the other co-chairs.
Speaking about British racing driver Lewis Hamilton and his ensemble for the night, Anna shared how he wanted to reveal his look on the day.
“Lewis, I’m not sure I entirely believe him,” she said.
“Says he doesn’t have a picture, but it’s great.”
She later added: “I trust Lewis. Lewis totally knows what he’s doing.”
‘PERFECT’ LOOKS PENDING
Anna then dished on Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky’s outfits.
“Pharrell and Rocky have both described to me what they’re wearing,” she said.
“It sounds perfect,” Anna revealed, hinting at their perfect Met looks.
Then, Anna decided to give a glimpse at her planned outfit for the fashion event of the year.
“It’s a combination of the reference to a creation that a design that Virgil [Abloh] made some years ago with Pharrell’s reinterpretation,” she revealed
This comes after we reported last week that fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker is bowing out of this year’s fashion festivities.
The Sex and the City starlet, 60, has revealed that she has to work, so cannot attend the glitzy, star-studded event.
