ELIGIBLE Americans could receive up to $5,500 from a massive data breach settlement – and they only need one document.

A whopping $7.25million is up for grabs after a class action lawsuit settled with Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker and Reliable Networks.

The lawsuit settlement resolves claims that the firm failed to protect consumers in a 2023 data breach.

The settlement benefits individuals whose private information was potentially leaked as a result of the data leak discovered in September 2023.

During this breach, an unauthorized third party allegedly gained access to sensitive information.

This could have put consumers at risk for fraud or identity theft.

Plaintiffs in the data breach lawsuit say Berry Dunn and Reliable Networks could have stopped this breach if they had implemented reasonable cybersecurity measures.

Berry Dunn is an accounting and consulting firm that offers services to a variety of industries.

This includes healthcare, government, nonprofits and more.

Reliable Network is an IT service provider that partners with Berry and Dunn.

Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker and Reliable Networks did not admit any wrongdoing but agreed to the massive settlement worth millions of dollars.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive a cash payment and credit monitoring services.

Those who experienced losses and have proof of it as a result of the breach are eligible to receive up to $5,000 in reimbursement.

These losses may include unreimbursed fraudulent charges, identity theft losses and other documented expenses.

And class members who did not experience documented losses can get a flat payment.

This smaller payment is worth up to $100.

But this amount may be adjusted up or down depending on the final number of claims filed with the settlement.

All class members, whether or not they experienced losses, can receive up to three years of free credit monitoring services.

These services are typically valued at $90 per year, for a total value of $270.

Those who wish to exclude have until May 7 to do so.

But be quick if you want to secure the payment, as all class members must submit a valid claim by May 22.
