The company Beyond Meat has agreed to pay a whopping $7.5 million to settle a class action that claimed it deliberately misled its customers.

Beyond Meat is a vegan, plant-based meat substitute brand sold in stores such as Target, Whole Foods, Walmart and more.

It was said that the company overstated the protein content and quality of its products, as reported by Top Class Actions.

Beyond Meat has been accused of not truthfully representing the quality of its products and the ingredients used.

Consumers said that they were therefore tricked into purchasing at higher prices than they wouldn’t have paid if they knew the reality.

The products included in the class action are:

  • Beyond Meat Sausage Plant-Based Dinner Links
  • Beyond Meat Beef Plant-Based Patties
  • Beyond Meat Beef Plant-Based Ground Beef
  • Beyond Meat Breakfast Sausage Links
  • Beyond Meat Breakfast Sausage Patties
  • Beyond Meat Chicken Plant-Based Breaded Tenders
  • Beyond Meat Meatballs Italian Style Plant-Based Meatballs

The settlement benefits anyone who purchased these products between May 31, 2018 and August 14, 2024.

HOW MUCH WILL YOU BE PAID?

As a part of the settlement, Beyond Meat will pay class members $2 for each product they purchased during the outlined period.

Without proof of purchase, claimants can receive up to $10 for five Beyond Meat products.

However, if you can provide proof that you purchased a product, through things like receipts and order confirmations, there is no limit to how much you can claim.

In this case, all payments could be reduced on a pro rata basis if the value of the claim goes over the amount available in the settlement fund.

Pro rata is another way of saying proportionally.

There are five ways that class members can receive their cash, through check, Venmo, PayPal, ACH or Zelle.

The deadline for applying is fast approaching, meaning anyone who believes they are eligible must act quickly.

The deadline is set for April 14, 2025.

The US Sun reports on a variety of active settlements that Americans can claim on right now.

MORE SUITS TO DISCOVER

Recently, The US Sun reported on five separate cases that are still open for applications.

These include a suit being held against MGM Resorts International after two separate cases in July 2019 and September 2023.

It is alleged that private information was accessed, including names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and dates of birth.

Ticketmaster data breach

In summer 2024, more than 500 million Ticketmaster customers were reportedly victims of a data breach.

  • In June 2024, Ticketmaster notified users of a data breach resulting in 560 million users’ data being leaked.
  • The company told the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that “a criminal threat actor” offered to sell users’ information on the dark web.
  • Before the official announcement on May 28, hacking group ShinyHunters claimed responsibility.
  • ShinyHunters is an international cyber threat group that has claimed to have breached large companies such as Microsoft and AT&T.
  • The group sought $500,000 for the 1.3TB of Ticketmaster’s customer information, including addresses, phone numbers, and credit card details.
  • Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Entertainment, confirmed that the data breach happened because of unauthorized access to a third-party cloud storage platform.
  • Although Live Entertainment has not stated which third-party database leaked the information, it is speculated that the AI cloud database platform, Snowflake, was compromised.

A smaller group had their drivers’ license numbers, Social Security numbers, passports and military IDs stolen.

Claims for this suit must be submitted by June 3.

In a separate case, a class action is being leveled at Union bank.

It was claimed the bank failed to protect information from a data breach that hit its email system.

Claimants for this suit need submit a form by June 2, 2025.

Check out The US Sun’s report to find out about the rest of the active lawsuits that you can benefit from.
