Aldi issues urgent ‘do not eat’ warning as soup product recalled from shelves

Aldi is recalling its Soupreme Creamy Chicken Soup and Specially Selected Pea and Ham Hock Soup because they may contain peanuts, which are not mentioned on the label.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said this makes it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

If anyone has the following products and has a peanut allergy, they are urged not to eat the food item.

The FSA explained: “Aldi is recalling the above products from customers and has been advised to contact relevant allergy support organisations, who will tell their members about the recall.

“The notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.”

In the product recall notice by Aldi, the supermarket said: “Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.

“For further information, please visit help.alidi.co.uk and customer services can be contacted on 0800 042 0800.”

In other food recall news, Harvey Nichols is recalling its Harvey Nichols Lustrous Hazelnuts in Dark Chocolate because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This food recall was issued back in July, but due to the best-before dates, customers should still look to see if they have purchased these.
