Aldi confirms fan-favorite cookie among snacks discontinued after ‘sad’ shoppers searched for them for months

ALDI has confirmed that a fan-favorite cookie has been discontinued after shoppers searched high and low for it.

The official brand account on the social media platform X broke the devastating news, with a broken heart emoji to sum up the pain.

It was revealed to the world after one curious shopper asked the retailer directly what was going on.

He had been looking for Simply Nature Coconut Cashew Crisps, but it was ultimately in vain.

Little did he know that their simple question would lead to a barrage of heartbreak.

The shopper posted on Saturday: “What happened to these @AldiUSA…no St. Louis area stores have had them for a while now.”

They signed off their plea for answers with a crying emoji, personifying everything that their heart couldn’t.

Then the official ALDI USA account exposed the news the shopper feared.

Aldi responded: “We have some bad news!

“Unfortunately, it’s been discontinued.”

The shopper detailed two specific flavors of the crisps, the vanilla bean and double chocolate.

The response implies that the entire range has been discounted, however.

Walmart and Aldi could be forced to change policy after self-checkout bill put forward – but Costco would be exempt

It is not clear why Aldi made this decision, or how long the snack had been gone from shelves for.

DISCOUNTINUED DESPAIR

The US Sun recently reported on another Aldi item to be discontinued – but this one could make a comeback.

It was revealed that the Sundae Shoppe Jumbo Ice Cream Sandwiches have been removed from stores.

According to Aldi Reviewer, the product was first spotted in July 2024 at $3.99 as a box of six.

The ice cream came in two main flavors, cookies & cream and vanilla.

One shopper went looking for the truth, and didn’t necessarily like what they found.

How to cut the cost of your grocery shop

BELOW are some tips on how to reduce the amount you spend on groceries.

  • Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley
  • Create a budget – Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
  • Never shop hungry – You are far more likely to buy  more food if your tummy is rumbling
  • Don’t buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit – The extra they’ll charge for chopping can be eye watering
  • Use social media – Follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
  • Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
  • Check the small print –  It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
  • Use your loyalty cards – Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently – work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards

The customer asked Aldi on X: “@AldiUSA When are you bringing back the Sundae Shoppe Jumbo Ice Cream Sandwiches?”

Aldi replied to the post: “Sadly, no news on our Sundae Shoppe Jumbo Ice Cream Sandwiches returning.

“Our team would love to hear that you’re missing them!

“In the meantime, be sure to check out some of our other cool ice cream treats in stores now!”

This reply suggests that with enough demand from shoppers, the treats could make a grand return at some point.

It is not know how much feedback Aldi would be looking for that would lead to the sandwiches making a comeback.
