Saints starting quarterback Derek Carr is at risk of missing the entire 2025 season due to a shoulder injury.
With Carr potentially on the shelf, Rodgers has come into play as an option for the Saints.
According to NBC’s Mike Florio, the Saints plan on reaching out to the 41-year-old quarterback.
Rodgers and the Steelers have been in a contract saga across the entire offseason.
However, the former New York Jets quarterback has yet to make a decision about his future.
Rodgers reportedly wants to join a team with playoff chances, which makes the Steelers a great option, but something his holding up him putting pen to paper.
It is possible that the future Hall of Famer is contemplating retirement, but he would be going out on a low note.
The Jets finished the 2024 season with a 5-12 record, but Rodgers still had a decent season.
He passed for 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Despite his solid performance, Rodgers was pushed out of the team after Aaron Glen replaced the fired Robert Saleh.
Rodgers was linked to the Steelers, Los Angeles Rams, and New York Giants after leaving the Jets.
However, the Rams re-signed Matthew Stafford and the Giants opted to sign former Steeler Russell Wilson.
That left the Steelers as pretty much the only option until the Saints emerged in the last few days.
NFL fans have split opinions about Rodgers’ upcoming decision and shared their thoughts on social media.
“Why would he choose Saints over Steelers,” one fan said.
“Why would the saints do that? They aren’t competing for anything,” another fan said.
“If Aaron Rodgers chooses the Saints over the Steelers just move the franchise to Canada,” a third fan said.
“Would Rodgers entertain an offer from NOLA?” a fourth fan said.
“I SPEAK FOR ALL OF #SAINTS FANS WHEN I SAY WE DO NOT WANT AARON RODGERS,” a fifth fan said.
