‘Notebook’ actor John Cardoza robbed at gunpoint in Harlem Dunkin’ Donuts

An actor in “Notebook” on Broadway was robbed at gunpoint in a Harlem Dunkin’ Donuts on Sunday.

John Cardoza, 30, was inside the shop on W. 145th St. near St. Nicholas Ave. in Harlem around 2 p.m., cops and sources said.

The man first asked Cardoza, who stars as “Younger Noah” in the musical, for a dollar, according to a post on the actor’s Instagram.

“I offered to buy him lunch because I didn’t have cash on me and it escalated from there pretty quickly,” he noted.

The man, with his hand in his pocket, said “I have a gun,” according to police.

“Ultimately, he didn’t make off with anything irreplaceable,” Cardoza wrote. “It makes me sad to think people are as desperate as this – and it makes me sad to feel a need to alert anyone to this kind of activity.”

The robber took off with Cardoza’s wallet containing personal items and $9 in cash, cops said.

Later, the robber attempted to use the victim’s credit card at bodegas, grocery stores and pharmacies in the neighborhood, according to Cardoza.

The actor described the robber as a “middle-aged black man, about 5’10”, in a green camouflage hoodie and black sweatpants.”

There were no injuries in the robbery, but Cardoza left his Instagram followers with some advice.

“It’s the world we’re living in, and if you’re like me, you already are careful and don’t think it’s going to happen to you until it’s staring you in the face,” the actor wrote in the post. “So please be vigilant as the weather warms up and more people are out and about.”

The incident came the same day Michael Stuhlbarg, the actor who portrayed gangster Arnold Rothstein in “Boardwalk Empire,” was attacked in Central Park, police said.

Stuhlbarg was walking in the park near E. 90th St. and East Drive when Xavier Israel threw a rock at him around 7:45 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

The actor suffered a minor cut to his head in the attack and police charged Israel, 27, with assault.

Israel has a history of mental illness in the city and in January 2022, he was accused of carrying out three assaults during a 10-day span in or near Central Park.
