Quincy Jones’ cause of death has been revealed just 10 days after the storied music producer died at age 91.
The multi-Grammy winner, behind Michael Jackson’s hit “Thriller,” died of pancreatic cancer, according to the official death certificate obtained by TMZ.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health did not list any other contributing factors in his death.
Jones’ publicist, Arnold Robinson, said he was surrounded by family when he died at his Bel Air home the evening of Nov. 3. He was laid to rest in a private ceremony in L.A. attended by all seven of his children, including actress Rashida Jones.
The “Parks and Recreation” alum, 48, remembered her father as “a giant. An icon. A culture shifter. A genius.” She described him as the embodiment of “love,” someone who “made everyone he ever met feel loved and seen. That’s his legacy.”
The Jones family previously confirmed a public memorial would also be held to honor the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, but a date has not yet been announced.
