Just a few weeks after its successful launch, Call of Duty publisher Activision is getting ready to launch Black Ops 6 Season 1.
Black Ops 6 Season 1 has a November 14 release date and a 6pm GMT launch time for fans in the UK. (That’s 10am PT for US fans.)
Coming to PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox consoles and PC, Season 1 will introduce a boatload of new content, as well as dozens of Battle Pass rewards.
If the positive reaction to the release of Nuketown is anything to go by, then most exciting of all is the addition of three brand new maps and an exciting new game mode.
New maps include the medium-sized Extraction battleground, as well as the medium-sized Hideout and the dinky Heirloom map. Three additional maps will be released as part of the mid-season update, including the holiday variant of the Nuketown map.
Hideout features an extensive training site complete with a target practice area, an obstacle course, and a mock vault and security room.
Extraction, on the other hand, is centred around the Avalon Heliport. It includes a downed helicopter, an air traffic control tower and some nice views of the surrounding sea.
Heirloom definitely looks like it will be the most fun, taking place in a small art gallery featuring various paintings and sculptures. Expect to rack up a ton of kills in this one.
The 6v6 maps will support Season 1’s brand new Ransack mode, which sees players loot gold bars from crates dotted around each map.
You can register your loot by bringing it back to your stash, although opposing teams can also raid your collected wealth. This means you’ll have to strike a balance between collecting gold and defending your safe zone. The first team to reach the score limit wins.
Fan favourite Prop Hunt mode will also make a return duing Season 1, although not until the mid-season update.
Likewise, Ranked mode will also make an appearance at some point during the season, so you might want to start practicing.
According to the early Black Ops 6 patch notes, fans can also expect some gameplay changes and new additions.
This includes the release of the new Shadow Perk, which makes players undetectable to enemy traps and mines. That’s on top of the new Handcannon Scorestreak.
The mid-level Scorestreak was last seen in Black Ops Cold War. It allows players to equip a powerful large caliber handgun with high bullet damage and penetration.
The majority of new Zombies content will join the game mid-season, although Activision has announced plans to release Directed mode at launch. Directed mode is perfect for players looking to discover the story, featuring guided objectives and a maximum round cap of 15.
Needless to say, the new season also adds a ton of rewards to unlock as part of the Battle Pass. As you can see from the Battle Pass trailer above, this includes the addition of Sevati ‘Sev’ Dumas as a new Operator, complete with four unlockable skins. Speaking of which, fans will also be able to unlock skins for Bayan, Maya, Bailey, Carver, Alvarez, Nazir, Stone, Rossi, and Niran.
That’s on top of new weapons, COD Points, Finishing Moves, Emblems, Sprays, Loading Screens, Emotes and lots more.
