Footage and pictures appear to show the aftermath of an explosion that has claimed the life of a captain in Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.
The brief clip shows the wreckage of the vehicle, sparking speculation that the Russian Black Sea Fleet Captain of 1st rank was likely the victim of an assassination.
An accompanying post on the independent Russia news outlet Gaza said: ‘In Sevastopol, a car was blown up on the highway – an explosive device had previously worked. The driver died.
“The explosion occurred when the car was moving along Taras Shevchenko Street.”
The post continued: “Eyewitnesses tried to help the driver, pulled him out of the car and handed him over to medics, but the injuries turned out to be incompatible with life.
“According to eyewitnesses, a hole was formed under the bottom of the car – this may indicate an installed IED.”
