Maybe Will Jordan was feeling hungry while up on the Wheel of Fortune stage.
The veteran and police officer appeared on the Veterans Day episode of Wheel of Fortune Monday, Nov. 11. The viral moment came when he was ready to solve the following board: “_ _ _ E _ O U R S E L F A R O U N _ O F A _ _ _ A U S E.”
In the moment, Jordan offered up what will surely become a missolve for the ages, and one you can watch on Wheel of Fortune’s Instagram page: “Treat yourself a round of sausage.”
“I tell ya, when the lights are on, and you know, the stars and Ryan Seacrest, Vanna White, it’s, I just went blank,” said Jordan in an interview shared on Instagram. “But, if your dad, in retirement, is watching this show, maybe cracks a beer and gets a laugh, it was worth it.
“And I’m sure I’m gonna have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back.”
The video then shows Seacrest signing the back of a cue card for Jordan to take home to his family.
“So great! And shoutout to Will for being a great sport and for making us laugh right along with him!” one commenter wrote on the Wheel of Fortune’s Instagram page.
“He made my day! I can’t imagine the stress of playing but still cracked me up!” another commenter wrote.
Jordan had previously served as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, according to the Rocky Hill Police Department in Connecticut. He later served as a sergeant with the Newington Police Department before retiring and joining the Rocky Hill Police Department.
