The July death of a month-old baby boy on Staten Island has been determined a homicide, police said Tuesday.
Hospital staff told police responding to a 911 call at Staten Island University Hospital around 7 a.m. July 20 that the baby — identified as Joseph Heben Jr.— was brought to the hospital unconscious and unresponsive, and that he had died, cops said.
The city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner determined the death was a homicide, cops said, but released no other details. There’s been no arrest in the case and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
