Wetherspoon is known for cheap drinks and filling food thanks to its variety of pub grub. But as many ex-workers have suggested it isn’t always made from scratch and can be pre-made.
Now, a current worker of the renowned pub chain has shared which meal customers should be ordering at Wetherspoon.
Macey Newberry shared a TikTok video with her 42,000 followers and insisted punters should order steak on their next visit.
Newberry said that the dish is one of the freshest items on the menu and is cooked to order.
The Wetherspoon worker ordered the Gourmet steak where she had the item medium cooked. The meal came with a side of chips, peas, vegetables and a peppercorn sauce.
Speaking in the video, Newberry said: “I probably shouldn’t be telling you this because it is a bit of insider information from working in Spoons.
“This, in my opinion, or to the textbook is the freshest meal Wetherspoons make.”
Despite, the steak being one of the pricest dishes on the menu coming in at £12, it is still marginally cheaper compared to other pubs and restaurants.
Newberry said the steak and chips are cooked to order with the sauce and vegetables being microwaved.
She added: “You just can’t go wrong with a steak meal, you know what you’re getting, you know you’re going to enjoy it – so get it.”
People took to the comment section of the video to share their thoughts on the steak meal, with one person writing: “Spoons steaks are really hit and miss. I’ve has some awful ones, some pretty decent ones as well. But for £10 you really can’t grumble.”
Another said: “Okay okay I know it’s not Spoons but I managed to get a steak dinner and sangria on my solo trip to Spain earlier this year for just under £11 WAS BANGING!”
