Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s son Kit ‘will be next Luke Littler’ as he ‘retires’ from football aged 9 to focus on darts

WAYNE Rooney’s nine-year-old darts-mad son Kit is aiming to be the new Luke Littler.

His mum Coleen has revealed the youngster has turned to the arrows after “retiring” from football and she’s preparing him for life on the oche by feeding him steaks for breakfast.

Kit, who is the couple’s third son, met Luke ‘The Nuke’ after he won the World’s Darts Championships at London’s Alexandra Palace in January and is so obsessed with the sport, he had a darts-themed birthday bash when he turned nine later that month.

Speaking about knocking up steaks for Kit’s darts-player diet at 7am, Coleen, 38, said: “The third one has steak for breakfast, this is the darts one, he wants to become a darts player at the minute.

“Sometimes he’ll have a fried egg with it, but mostly it’s just a steak – he’ll just have that.”

While the Rooney’s two eldest sons are football mad and following in the footsteps of their former England skipper dad, Kit can’t commit to the game.

Coleen said: “Kai, he’s 15, and Klay, who’s going to be 12 in May, they’re both at the academy at Manchester United, they’ve been there for quite a few years now.

“The youngest, he goes in at Everton, he’s just turned seven, but he absolutely loves it, and the third one, he’s retired. He’s retired a few times.”

Instead he’s had his head turned by darts and can often be seen throwing arrows on the family dart board inside the Rooneys’ sprawling Cheshire mansion.

He’s likely to be seen practising inside the huge house too as Disney+ prepare to make an At Home with the Rooneys TV show later this year.

In January Coleen took Kit, Cass and Klay to the World Darts Championships where an ecstatic Kit got to meet his hero, Luke, on the night he triumphed.

He signed their replica Luke “The Nuke” shirts too.

Coleen Rooney reveals being married to Wayne is ‘like being a single mum’ in one of her most brutally honest interviews

She posted the words: “Amazing night…kids were buzzing!! Congratulations @lukethenukelittler.”

She added: “That’s me screaming getting beer all over me.”

Wayne and Coleen developing Kit’s  skills at such a long age will aid his bid to emulate darts prodigy and Kit’s hero Littler, who became the youngest world champion in darts history aged just 17.

However, darts isn’t Kit’s only hobby, he’s also the “musical one” of the siblings according to Coleen and plays various instruments, as well as possessing a talented singing voice, thanks to the guidance of a private music tutor who gives him weekly one-on-one lessons at their house.

Speaking about being a mother to four young boys during an appearance on Nicky Byrne’s podcast, Coleen admits her home is a madhouse, but she wouldn’t want it any other way.

The WAG said: “They’re just constant, they’re constantly winding each other up – it’s like a domino effect.

“The eldest goes to the second one, the second goes to the third one, it’s like a WWE wrestling match all the time, but it’s good fun.

“If it was a quiet house, it wouldn’t suit us as a family. A madhouse suits us.”

And Coleen tells how the boys burn off energy by using the boxing ring her and Wayne bought for them as a Christmas present in 2023, which is also located in their huge mansion.

She added: “It does come in handy, they go in there and kill each other.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Coleen is getting used to having her husband Wayne back at home after his ill-fated spell as manager of Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle.

The former England captain was relieved of his duties in December after a string of bad results, but Coleen admits his sacking was a blessing as the Devon club is located far away from their family base – and he now wants to focus on his TV work.

She said: “At the minute, he’s really happy on TV, podcasts and just being at home. Plymouth was a bit far.

“It hasn’t worked out at certain clubs. It’s something he’s passionate about. It’s something he might revisit. He’s passionate about TV.”
