It airs every weeknight on BBC One from 7pm for around half an hour before the biggest shows in the schedule such as EastEnders.

The likes of Alex Jones, Clara Amfo, Roman Kemp, Ronan Keating, and Lauren Laverne usually make themselves at home on the iconic green sofa.

But before then, it is the 6pm BBC News bulletin before half an hour of local news.

However, the long-running magazine show has been seemingly pulled off the airwaves on Friday 21st March.

Instead, the publicly funded corporation has decided to air the annual Comic Relief telethon.

From 7pm, a string of stars will appear on the airwaves to front the annual charity fundraiser.

The news will return at 10pm, before ten minutes of local news will be provided at 10:30pm.

BBC One will then cut back to the telethon for an hour before an 11:40pm screening of the film, Beetlejuice.

According to the BBC’s website a number of huge familiar faces will front the show.

The likes of Rylan Clark, Joel Dommett, Alesha Dixon and Jonathan Ross will appear on the airwaves.

Alison Hammond, AJ Odudu, and Tom Allen will also be involved in the highly-anticipated broadcast.

Davina McCall, 57, will is also set to make her live TV comeback after her huge brain tumour operation.

The former Big Brother presenter was diagnosed with a benign but very rare tumour purely by chance after being offered a scan a few months ago.

In a video, the mum of three explained: “It needs to come out because if it grows, it would be bad.”

The Masked Singer judge had said the 14mm growth was a rare colloid cyst, with a “three in a million” chance of having one.

Is Comic Relief the same as Red Nose Day?

COMIC Relief is a charity started by Richard Curtis and Jane Tewson in July 1985.

It was also co-founded by Peter Bennett-Jones and Sir Lenny Henry.

While Comic Relief is the name of the charity, Red Nose Day is the actual event where people and celebrities are encouraged to take part in fundraising events.

These include cake bakes, sporting challenges and wearing red clothes – and red noses – to school.

You can purchase a Red Nose or other merchandise from the Comic Relief website.

The very first Red Nose Day was in 1988 and raised £15million.

In 2023, £35,310,407 was raised, but the biggest amount was in 2011, which saw an incredible £108,436,277 donated.
